thanks, though you wouldn't know

i'd say life has reached an impasse - boredom and excitement are blurring in this single day.. sometimes you just have to wonder, how do you define something as interesting or exciting! i think i'm just in a funk, need to readjust the sleeping times or something.. i had a craving for beef and satisfied it with a double cheeseburger!

anyway, watched get smart and walked and talked with char today =) must say it was good just hanging out! but i think i hadn't eaten for too long.. like since 12+ so on the walk back to orchard mrt i was feeling rather floaty. sort of feverish too. probably because i had a large cup of icelemontea+sprite and no food. could have been the effect of walking in warmth of the crowd, and the white and blue lights overhead. it felt like the world was moving really, really slowly. like time was slowing down! i can't really describe it.

i don't want to waste time, but somehow it just seems to slip away..
tonight's not a really great night because i feel like i'm falling sick! lol! drink more bailey's and milk =D

ok, drink more water.

clarke quay

today was quite interesting =D

had lunch at square2, pasta de waraku! and discussed rsaf stuff with fellow girls.. actually i think we discussed the food more than the topic, but it was yummy food~ i ate more than i expected to, and i think i won't mind visiting any of its outlets again =) infiltrated old workplace for fun, visited my friend's dept first, IITE! operation panda.. the name i coined for the impromptu infiltration.. and woah the place where we all used to be looks so sad and empty now.. there are like 2 people left where there used to be 10! =( rawr.

after that, walked my friend to the busstop and there was nothing to do! so it was between home and movie. i chose the movie: FOR NARNIAAA! haha quite exciting come to think of it, the first movie i've ever watched alone in my entire life in the cinema! The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I dunno why so many people gush over the prince, he's cute, but only especially so when he's saving people or when he's sad.. overall, the movie was extremely worth watching! and like i said, i'd watch it all over again! alone or otherwise. and i wouldn't have minded paying $10 to watch it! it was so exciting. and i think the cry FOR NARNIA isn't as inspiring, rather cynical and.. i can't find the exact word but it has something to do with hypocritical selfishness and the like.. "For Aslan!!" is much more awesome and hope-filled! yeah.. it's also quite cool that the film was set near wartime, i kinda liked the little historical snippets they threw in. makes me want to (a) buy the dvd set when the entire chronicles is done and (b) read the books again! with historical context. made the correct choice to watch the movie =D it killed time, so it was just nice to meet colleagues for dinner, and fulfilled my desires of experiencing solo-movie-watching as well as watching narnia! happy.

we went clarke quay! and i'm glad that i did not waver, that i was disciplined =) because after dinner, we had a clarke quay tour for me: the noob who hasn't been there. it renovated a few years ago, and is pretty now! i wouldn't mind going there more often. then again, we went quite early so it was still tame and peaceful. wonder what it's like when it's supposed to be more happening, like past 10pm! which is the time we went home LOL.

sat down at the pump room, which supposedly has a cool band but it only starts playing at 1045pm =( rawr. and they ordered drinks! i wanted yakult ;P kidding. but yup i'm really glad that i stuck to my conviction not to drink outside despite the tantalising wafts of lychee martini drifting from koala's glass. it smelt really good, maybe i'll indulge in bailey's or chivas later =D never said i wouldn't drink, just not outside! but, i'm scared i'll get a tummy =X not good. hahaa, i don't need alcohol to get high!! =)

at the expense of sounding really repetitive, i think i feel a sense of accomplishment at my overwhelming mindpower and discipline! =D yay. maybe i'm just trying to make myself feel better, but it works! no succumbing to peer pressure and social pressures rox. rawr! i win. =D

one more day without work

i was slack today, and there's nothing much to do online!! rawr. the horoscope said i should indulge in my creativity and do something artsy but i didn't.. i did go running again =D i WILL make it a lifestyle. the current, never-to-be-proven hypothesis is that i was too sedentary as a child! never move about enough, just sit down and watch tv, read books, eat, sleep.. yeah. maybe that's why i have too much fat! so i'm going to be more active now =) burn away all the fattiness.

went for prk checkup BRIEFING. it was really brief LOL.. waste my time. the real thing is at NUH. so i went home and slept until lunch =S hopefully the old wives' tale that amount of sleep is inversely proportional to obesity holds true! =D then i'd be on my way to less fattiness! i've been sleeping alot, but with quite weird sleeping habits, i.e. sleep at 12am, wake up 7am, eat breakfast with mom, run, bathe, read newspapers, watch cartoons, tired, sleep until lunch..then it's normal. ok actually that was just one day's schedule but it seems so applicable!

did some surds and looked through the inequalities tutorial.. but when i saw differentiation, decided to leave that for another day =P but i couldn't bring myself to do more tutorials.. bully for me =( so i went and read 3 chapters of stiglitz's globalisation and it's discontents.. i'm re-reading the book! it's quite heavy, and takes awhile to digest so i guess i shall intersperse reading that with other books. but the issues that he raises are quite fascinating! especially the hypocrisy of developed nations with regards to developing countries.. it really shows how selfish everything is, which is quite sad.

i guess in that sense, asian culture seems prettier! there was this article in the newspaper yesterday, that cited a study of japanese vs western students: they were showed a series of drawings of five children and were asked to rate the face of the child at the centre of the picture on a 10 point scale for happiness, sadness and anger! and what they found was that jap students rated the happiness of the central figure higher when all the other children were happy too, but the rating dropped when the rest were sad.. whereas the western students were largely indifferent to the background! and that says alot for culture and perception. it's quite obvious that western society places alot more emphasis on independence and individualism whereas for asians, there's more going on w.r.t the collective mindset. and i guess there are pros and cons for both! either way, situational awareness!! rawr

i hope tomorrow will be more exciting =)

i don't love you like i did yesterday

i heard this my chemical romance song while eating lunch (student meal ftw!) at yoshinoya for the first time in a really long time today! realised i haven't been using ftw in a long while too.. how interesting. the funny little things we come to observe in life.. ok i would have complained that today was boring, but actually upon recollection, it was quite interesting! and different, since i woke up at 7am to eat breakfast with my mom and went running =P then came back and read straits times.. one might even think i'm growing OLD, reading newspapers and running in the morning! omg. lol! but to refute that disturbing notion, i got bored while watching cartoon network and went back to sleep.. rawr budden went library to study at 11+ am with my workfriend and i borrowed books =D yay! reading time.. we even went stadium to run coz he said running 2.4km requires the flat track to get accurate timing and he needed to train.. lol. i really don't like running on tracks! it's so boringg.. after one round, you've seen everything! and you have to see it again, and again for another five.. with my relatively short attention span, no wonder i can't run 2.4km. i only ran three rounds, with breaks in btw! stop laughing at my lousy 2.4 timing rawr.

i am still slightly traumatised by my attempt at napfa last wednesday!! despite the gold, i came away with a miserable 25/ 30 AND a B in SBJ! omgg how can someone who played vball get a B. and i swear it's not my fault! it's the EVIL invigilator's fault. i'm still so irked that i can't spell invigilator properly! i keep typing inviligilator or something -.- roarrrrr. he FAULTED me TWICE, on my 2m+ jumps! THEN, on the second jump i think i got so annoyed that i moved wrongly and KILLED MY BACK, which means i ended up with a stupid 187cm. diesss. ok, my shuttle run was not bad, 10.6s.. but still i think i ran faster last time! hahaa hmm and the most horrific thing was the 2.4km. dunno what happened but i blame sentosa outing the day before which tired me out! then again, 15.23 is an AWFUL timing =( finee, permission is granted to laugh at me while i wallow and sulk in misery. that's why i went running twice today! i'm going to get fit. ROARRRR!

sentosa outing with colleagues last tuesday, 17th june! was FUN. but i turned out chaota-ded again. hmm not much to say here. except that carl's jr is quite yummy. and i was super tired, i went to sleep immed after getting home and bathing! rawr. hmm muk and nigel were late! tried to dunk him, but ended up getting all wet oso coz no choice, he wouldn't have gone down otherwise rawr. the sand was UBER hot! it was literally a BBQ pit, or like timithi! the indian firewalking festival, i dunno how to spell it. played vball! but not v pro-ly. and soccer! i scored the only goal! rawr, but my friend was saying he was hoping like mad that the sand wouldn't have enough friction to stop it from rolling in. hey.. i'm not a soccer girl k! and handball. and one game of taiti in the sea, on a frisbee! LOL that was rather amusing. skipped lunch, or rather lunch was chips and soda.. lovely. but all in all, it was quite a cool day =D nice sorta farewell! and we're going ubin cycling soon yay =D

thursday was INTERVIEW day! rsaf to be exact. it was.. bemusedly easy.. hahaa except that, it has left me in a dilemma because i really want to study before army life and all that stuff get to my brains and kill them. there are a few routes, but i'm not really sure which one to take! going for PRK checkup tomorrow first though, just to confirm that options are still open this way.. sometimes though, having alot of options just seems to make things worse. honestly, am i living someone else's dream? what's mine

fri vball =) ORA. i played subset. LOOL. was i confused. but net too high, nv spike =( rawr. but i missed vball, and this was good for my vball-missing heart =P

actually last week was quite exciting now that i'm recollecting! saturday was ECP cycling =D which was fun! i visited breaker 23 again.. but somehow because it was a weekend, it was occupied.. which made it less pretty somehow! i think that's my fav spot for cyclingg. OH, interesting incident took place! one of my female classmates got LOST. at ECP! LOL.. however unbelievable that may be.. i'll remember her forever for that. and the worst thing was i really wanted to pee (selfish me) but had to wait there for her to come back. i'd narrate the story but it's quite long.. nvm.

we'd all stopped cycling and were waiting for 3 people to return so that we could return the bikes and go off to cityhall for dinner. but they were taking awhile, so half of us moved off first! leaving 4 of us to wait.. since it was still slightly before the deadline, we decided to play bridge (coz jon got CRAVING =P somehow craving reminds me of pregnant women but nvm) and wait. the couple returned within the time limit! but there was still no sign of the last, lost cyclist, zijia.. they'd tried calling earlier on, but there was no vibrations coming from the bag! so we assumed she had her hp with her but somehow, wasn't picking up - the popular surmises were (a) she's lost her hp and was looking for it, (b) she fell down, (c) aiyah whatever.. anyway the couple left for their own doings xD and after awhile more, we decided, better send out the search party on foot while someone stayed back to continue calling and looked out! so i stood there, holding two bags like an idiot, plus the phone and calling.. and calling.. then i realised, with my sharp ears: omg, the bag got music! which was really quite hilarious esp when i called to inform them that there was no means of contact other than physical.. but not long after, i received a call from the search party: lost cyclist had been found! the most amusing thing, was that she was so disoriented that she stopped in front of the WRONG bike kiosk and i had to WALK, holding my pee, to go get her since she was looking real lost! coz she cycled and the stupid search party was STROLLING behind. grr. so i guess i wasn't looking very happy. haha i was like rawr-ing alot during the bridge game! but i guess i was worried.. or just irritated! ya. sorry for the scariness, i think i was hungry and needed to pee. rawr but we were really late for dinner.. anw she got lost coz she cycled along the connector all the way to changi beach and had to cycle back -.-" maybe they should put bigger signs like "THIS WAY IS CHANGI BEACH" in bright colors. lol!

anw, yay she was saved. and decided to go mac's to pee.. but the Q was too long so i had to hold until city hall in the end =.= met xinhui at mac's with her colleagues! and yl the vballer during the cycle with her colleagues too! LOL. and i met my colleague, edwin at mac's! haha qt alot of meeting. the only exciting thing that happened after that was, we had to cab to cityhall, marina sq. only to find out that they were at cartel, rafflescity LOL. so walked there. yup then food! but waited for xr who was LATE still dare to complain.. ate too much bread, and then the ribs hence super FULL. yup then go home fatter lor! w00t. long story has ended.

that was the week. monday = slack. today = less slack. tmr = prk. i hope thurs will be exciting! hahahaa.. next week should be better. there's camp! seems like weeks alternate between slack and not. hmm but overall, i think my life is not bad? minus the various hard decisions that everyone needs to make.. honestly deciding my future now is really tough since freedom is the new black now.

friday the 13th

today was my last day at work! officially, and well, i'm supposed to feel relieved and happy but somehow i don't really feel that way. but no worries, no more irritating TPs calling, no more irritating the TPs! all this will hit me in one big ball of happiness soon! i guess what i'll miss is the camaraderie, but since there are so few people left, it shouldn't be much of a problem =D

friday the 13th, was the day i got THE NEWS, that they didn't need me anymore. k granted, i'm not the first one but it doesn't feel nice not to be needed LOL. but it's sort of true, the calls volume has dropped drastically, minus the few on-off days where more calls come in, like today! plus, they recruited more permanent staff.. yup so i got the news on class dinner day.. and wow, even for a friday, city hall was imbal crowded. there was this gigantic bottleneck at nyny, and we lost siqian!! but it turned out she had to leave to attend a friends' somebody's funeral =(

these few days have sorta highlighted the fragility of life, what with the passing on of 2 NSF in 2 days.. but back to class dinner coz i'm feeling frivolous and don't really wanna think about stuff liddat on a blog. right.. we wandered from city hall which was super full so decided to change venue, almost went to suntec, but decided to go somerset. found out villaj was closed, and walked to paragon where we waited half an hour for a table for 9 at spageddies. ok that's quite exciting. but it was quite sian while we were doing it! except that the food was really good =D or maybe we were all just really hungry. but the point is, i resigned on friday. and i backdated my resignation, because we're supposed to give 3 days notice so today was my last day!

honestly, it didn't really feel like a last day. i think tmr will feel like it, coz we're having our batch's tta outing to sentosa! i hope it'll be happening =) i will be high ok! and the silliest thing is that i didn't dare return the pass today, because the managers weren't around! so i might have to go back to do that.. quite silly. oh well, meet them for lunch or something! maybe i'll go back on friday.

watched kungfu panda on sunday! and went to IT fair again. the first time i went was with work-friends on thursday. i shall whine about eating fast food for 3 days this week! and ok, basically ALOT of food this week:

1. Japanese Buffet Kuishin-bo at suntec after piano dip! which i think i killed. ching says overall musicality should be fine but.. erm nvm.

2. NYNY at amk after driving! supposed to play vball after driving WHICH I PASSED =D YAY. ok nvm the high has worn off slightly, but was too late. OHH i met rgsquashmate taking test on same day so the pressure was greater to pass! she passed on her first try, way to go yr! but was complaining that she spent more than me despite me taking more times tests. HAHA.

3. LJS, Swensen's on thursday! rawr. for lunch and dinner.. then went IT fair to check out digicams. decided that my cam is nicer than most, and good enough for me! so i shan't be getting a new one until it spoils. coz i like it, and the only problem with it is that the evil screen is scratched. ok i think i'm more evil, coz i let it get scratched.. erm. nvm.

4. MACS on sunday after kfpanda! i ate like 8 spicy nuggets and a rawr. green tea mcflurry which i think is a total rip-off. the japan matcha mcflurry pwns its ass! anw kfpanda was super cute! i love pandas, they are round and cuddly and adorable and bouncy. and whee, its name was po! hahaha so cute =D plus the badguy, tailung?! was so adorable as a baby! nvm.. and the SHIFU. LOLL. was cute too! basically i loved the movie coz it was so cute, and feel-good =D master WUGUI. hahahaa. ok i think i'm amusing myself.

looking fwd to sentosa tmr and cycling on saturday! but the saturday plan is rather ambitious, i think i'll skip the movie and the bbq-ing. just cycle! hopefully they realise that BBQs are really hard to plan and just eat at the hawker centre.

i'll miss IRAS, for the company more than anything!

anyway, i realise, it's actually quite easy to chase girls if you know the correct method ;) and have identified correctly the type of girl, so you can apply the appropriate correct method. then again, maybe it's easier for girls to figure this out! LOOL. the guys who got it right must be quite smart. or have nothing better to do like me, on the walk home today! hahaaa xD

ok i just got scolded when i revealed some of the method =( apparently it's taking advantage of girls even though it works.. rawr. fine. i'm a noob! kill me now.. yar wdv.

Friday, June 06, 2008

wow it's been almost a month! and quite a lot of things have happened.

to sum up, hokkaido trip was great. brought back lots of food and photos. yum, there's still some left!

i got my piano theory results back - i just passed. phew.
piano diploma is the coming tuesday, driving the coming wednesday.
hmm is there anything i've missed out?

i went for rsaf medical and drew blood. the nurse said my veins are too fine.. and she couldn't poke properly on the right arm, she was wiggling the needle inside! and when she tried to draw, it hurt alot!! i saw it move under the skin >< so she had to change to the left arm. at least the puncture holes have healed =)

there was a whole scholarship and local vs overseas studies fiasco, which is still ongoing abit.. but i'm staying local =) shall make the most of it! need to plan soon.. hmm. what else.

yay had a stayover + movie session =D which was fun but i ended up being the only one chionging pb s2.. which is not really fun. they all dieded. the prestige is not bad! taught me that there are 3 parts to a trick: the pledge, the turn and the prestige. and it's quite thought-provoking! especially when we try to think about the lives we lead - we could all possibly be living lives

work is less eventful coz it's non-peak. but you get the occasional nasty caller that really sux. mine came 2 days ago - it was the last call of the day. made me feel just brilliant!

oh then there was the uefa champs league finals at koala's house =D quite fun! her steinway totally rox. oh well, too bad man utd won. they started gloating about the double quite fast.. -.- evil fans.

this week is supposed to be stay at home week to practice piano.. but today is the only day i came home straight after work! have been surviving on quite little sleep.. but i don't feel sleepy at the moment.

oh let me recount my mrt escapade. it happened yesterday morning! first my mom and i got to the platform to wait for the empty train that usually arrives around 745, but suddenly the mrt controller announced that there would be no empty train due to a fault! so everyone that was waiting chionged onto the next train since the following train was quite far away.. and they were even MAKING people enter the train, like "PLEASE BOARD THIS TRAIN, THERE IS NO EMPTY TRAIN" the poks. because what happened next would make any sane person cringe with irritation.

at the next stop, the train stopped, doors opened and the driver announced "this train is not for service" wth. he didnt even say, please get out and wait for the next train! so everyone was just quite stunned or disbelieving for awhile.. but eventually everyone cleared out to wait for the following train. you can't believe the crowd! the whole platform was practically crammed full of people. then, the next train came. since i'd only a few hours of sleep the day before chionging piano (like i'm supposed to be doing now but i finished) i was feeling like abandoning the idea of even going to work, and make my way home to sleep. BUT my mom suddenly started squeezing into the train, by the time i registered that i had to actually push into the train, i was stuck against the train doors, with my butt against some really fat indian man's BELLY! IT WAS SO ROUND AND BOUNCY HOW CAN i was utterly disgusted!!!!!!! i felt like. omg. i'm going to die from horror. so i was like trying hard not to make my back not touch him at all, and doing this hilarious balancing act against some malay girl standing in front of me! it was so squished, there wasn't even a millimetre's gap in between people!! only got marginally better in the end.. i managed to move away from that position but i was still next to the tubby, who SMELT. got B.O. =( poor me. hahaa. i was feeling really horrible that day, so i put myself in a corner of the office to be alone and emo. rawr. this tells you why i want a car, and why train operators should not bite off more than they can chew by increasing the frequency of mrt trains without ensuring they are properly maintained first. the noobs.

anyway, enough of that! i'm off =) be back soon! hahaa probably.
life's quite normal now. i'm getting rather bored! miss vball. hopefully will get to play soon =P it's only a few more days till after the examssss.. maybe i'll revise french and take up jap again. need to settle uni accomodation and stuff! plus scholarship decisions to make.. alright. life's not boring per se, but it's not the kind of excitement nor high that i'm looking for to make things better.. anyway, some things are better left unsaid, maybe?
