FIRST SOLO

the feeling is indescribable!

while i would love to take the time to analyze and reflect on, go through the entire process of my first solo so that i can embed it further in my mind, promos loom overhead and i should not even be blogging. :P

or doing random personality tests -_- so much for impulse control! lol

pw day!

haha i realise that my blog is fast becoming an outlet for me to recall what happened during the day, and as a means of remembering what happened when i look back on these further on in the future. Guess that's quite cool. This means that a new blogging phase has arrived for me! Whereas previously, just after reviving my blog, i would just post random stuff, this has really started to become a weblog... coolness =P

Today we went posef's house for PW meeting! Our second official one with all members present, the first being the time we went RI to do interview with CLE head Desmond Tan. Posef's house is cool, his doggy, Welly? lol is super enthu and cuter than in his dp la. Lunch provided: the cheesecake (homemade) and fried rice and lu3 dan4 were good! Played pingpong, wherein rediscovered my noobness... lol. Had to walk quite far to get to his house though! He tried to bluff us but upon realisation that we knew his address, that was out of the question =P Smart people *coughmecough* usually check this out before going to any uluated place.

Ulu: Defined as places not near my house, where I have never been before, and basically out of the way for me. hahaa

Guess we were quite productive.. At least we compiled and got things done! :) Lx left at 12, we suspected for a hot date oO lolll And the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! not bad for a day's work i guess, accomplished most of what we set out to do... Left some relatively small stuff and we have a, rather good i might add, draft to show maam lim hai choo for pw on wednesday (2-4pm) =) Following lunch, a period of slow productivity followed. i rest by my case that lunch is bad for you, it makes you feel sleepy and lethargic, which is weird for me! considering i was delivered at 1230pm in the afternoon! one would think that would be when i'm most awake and active.

Randomness abounded during pw meeting! haha hence the amusement for the day.
  1. Ms Swan -- everyone should go youtube and check it out! Xp
  2. Getting enthu greetings by posef's doggy...
  3. Finding out about radioclubblog and that posef's playlist is not emo oO!
  4. Popping by CG's house! hahaa ^^" since it was so clost we decided to visit her.
  5. Sudden decision to go eat prata at the prata place nearby due to CG's reccomendations! lol.
A rather incoherent post. but covers all main points! XD

.rain rain go away.
come again another day

the carpark game at IMM!

zomg the carpark at IMM is so fun! went there today to look at shoes at World Of Sports, which carries the two brands i looked for AND1 and Mizuno. The new carpark (i haven't been there since march with pengpeng) has sensors placed above each lot to detect if it's empty or full! the data is then transmitted to the signboards located throughout! it's like a whole new game la! besides spotting people moving towards their cars now, you have to look out for green lights and zoom there!!! super funnn Xp hahahaa. But i didn't get the shoes... :( they didn't have the AND1 model, and the mizuno was out of my size. i have decided to call the queensway uncle and order it. or get it online or something... -.-

when the afterburner kicks in

what a fun yet tiring day!

Things done:
  1. RSAF Open House 2006 (2-3 september)
  2. Shoe shopping (though nothing was bought)
haha am tired and need to go off the comp soon. should attempt to keep this short and simple then! i will look back on this day with fondness. Thanks to Amanda, Kaifong, Louyang, and random syfc related people for being a part of the first half of my day today at RSAF open house! which was quite awesome. it was hot! (in both senses of the word :P)

While awaiting my company's arrival, spent a horrible time in the security check queue, familiarised myself with the layout of the place and ogled the aircraft but didn't take pictures, anticipating alot of photosnapping later on.

Lessons Learnt:
  1. Take photos early on. when and wherever you feel like it. you may just run out of batt halfway so make the most of your impulses! -__- my cam batt ran out after taking 80+ pics of the aerial display and i only took 2 with people in them, so yes i know what i'm talking about.
  2. Do NOT carry bags to airbases or places where you anticipate security checks. They retard you... seriously retard mentally, physically and w.r.t. time.
Next settled down to watch the aerial display at 1045h. Took a seat in the middle of the grandstand, near the middle half of the benches, midlevel from bottom. The view was not bad i must say and it was a great experience seeing the military planes up close! Of course, all the commentary was propaganda-crap... what 3rd Generation RSAF blablabla... but the best part of it! zomg... the SOUND of the f-16s taking off made my whole body tremble (duh it's like how loud and powerful), my knees go weak and i felt like melting la! (not just because of the sun :P) zomgg i LOVE it! But apparently, it can make you go deaf super fast... well, nothing's perfect! Got called by company when aerial display was about to end, but they were on the other side of the grandstand, so had to wait...

Lessons Learnt:
  1. Bring a cap to such events. Alternatively, buy the rsaf cap immediately after entering! lol.. ^^ the cap's super nice la! :P since a picture is worth a thousand words, i'll post a picture of all the stuff i got later when my cam batt has finished recharging! XD
  2. When taking photos, remember to anticipate the subsequent movements of the planes so that you won't miss anything. Lookout and Listenout!
  3. Do not sit in the middle of the middle of the middle. Makes it super hard to get out fast! haha common sense stuff this one.
FINALLY found my company after leaving aerial display! :D was at Flight Zone and conversing over the phone and didn't realise we were next to each other.. -.- hahahaha. to cut it short, spent the rest of the time as below:
  1. Food at the Food Zone - Food there was good! quite a lot of choices from western food to malay food, ice cream, drinks, snacks, ice kachang, mexican fajitas? lol etc. i ate the cauliflower and carrot au gratin, a vegetable dish which was not bad, and cost a mere 50cts! :P
  2. Shopping at rsaf stall, all proceeds go to the pocket money fund! i think...
  3. Photo taking with random aircraft! Chinook CH-47, Apache AS-337, Super Puma, F-16 Blk 52D+, F-5, beloved little Piper Warrior PA-28-161, Oscar Delta~ as well as Instructors Daniel Tan SK (ohhh louyang :P stop squealing about him already XD), Adrian Liew and Dennis John De Witt. Saw Siva.
  4. Endured with amusement louyang's non-stop obsession with her primary instructor, who she was lucky to meet twice and take photos with twice while hyperventilating, overreacting and amusing us all in the process. Dewitt commented that you could probably hear her from the other end of the runway. i agree. :P but louyang's cute XD
  5. Visiting booths and taking free stuff. Thanks evelyn for the free water! :) hahaa i don't know why im blogging about them all. this will probably ensure that my blog turns up on every search engine if you type in one of their names -.- arghh nvm. i shld just abbrieviate or sth...
  6. Ending up not going to the Flight Simulation Centre because of the long shuttle queue and going off instead at about 3pm. Found this small shop near the shuttle to eunos' longgg queue and went in! got pilot's wings ;P and a keychain! coolness. :)
Next, took bus 90, got told to stop at some random ulu busstop to wait for my parents, who took super long to arrive! -.- and i was scared i had been waiting at the wrong busstop. Went Queensway shopping for shoes! Because of my decision to boycott Nike, mostly because it wears out super fast, but, maybe the sweatshop news contributed to it, found it super hard to find shoes meeting my requirements! -_- okay, my requirements were quite stringent.
  1. Black or mostly black
  2. Basketball shoes
  3. Looks nice, prefer low cut... which is the hard part for a bball shoe.
Found a pair of women's bball shoes by Adidas, but there wasn't the size. and when the size was found, wanted to try a bigger size coz it just fit but they didn't have it. And my mom said it didn't look nice. so. on to the next shop. Walked around for ages... around the same shops for super long la! Went upstairs next but found nothing. saw a pair of super cool black vball shoes but according to the above requirements, they were out of the question. so i went back to some shop and tried a pair of And1 which caught my eye but was lazy to try before! which were super nice, but they didnt have my size againnnn. rawr. wondering if i should just order it in. but what if the bigger size doesn't suit as well??? >< onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5681/733/1600/IMG_1080.jpg">what a fruitful day! XD hahahahahaaaa. fun-ness!

EDIT: after reading manda's blog! i remembered that stupid incident with the joyride!!!!! rahhhh. how stupid, our instructors/syfc adults could have signed consent form for us la! waaa why got connxns nv use!! :( so no chinook, c130 or f50 joyride for us... :( nvm i got to touch the f-16!!!! which i forgot to blog about as well :D zomgg i LOVE the feel of the f-16, that indescribable texture and feel! i almost hugged it :) haha almost being the key word. so malu to hug it la :X we shall be the next female f-16 pilots! ^^" hee. my beloved fighter jets :) but so sad, no f-35, or f-22! too precious to open to public viewing :'( hahaaa f-16 is cool too la :)

i will hold on to the memories
