occupational hazard
i think it's the stress. other people who see my schedule and decisions would probably wonder why i set myself up for these kinds of pressure! but i guess it's quite cool. after all, we're young! why waste time :P
stressors:
1a. piano theory grade 8 exam - 15 March
1b. scholarship applications - 17-21 March
1c. driving practical test - 25 March
2a. japan holiday - 3-9 May
2b. piano ATCL diploma - mid-May
i would like to clarify that the holiday was not my idea. i assumed it would be late march to april, and that we would go tokyo to see the cherry blossoms, not hokkaido.
anyway, all these has resulted in my fuse being extremely short. especially during the last week before any exam itself, i tend to get really irritable, less conversational and much more antisocial. so watch out!
today i felt like shouting at an indian man who called in.. hello, you're only 4 years older than me, why are you so myopic!! i'm probably being hypocritical when i call him immature, because this rant is equally puerile. too bad.
firstly, he called in to clarify a letter and payment details. while i was trying to help him by providing information that he did not have, he accused me of telling him falsities! he even tried to use a letter to back himself up. fortunately, the system saves letters sent out and it was obvious that he was bullshitting. so i read the paragraph out to him, and i guess he wasn't very happy to have his ignorance pushed right into his face. big deal, you just look even more stupid insisting that you are right when you obviously aren't! if you want to use any material, please read it properly first. if not, the likelihood of your "support" backfiring against you is too high to risk. and after he grudgingly accepted that, i guess he wasn't very pleased so he decided to make life difficult for me by being very, irritating. doesn't help that his voice didn't please my ears.
secondly, because he'd received a payment voucher, when i told him that he should just make the payment asap to avoid incurring penalties, he refused to! and HAD to have a deadline. why the hell do you need a specific date on which the penalty will be incurred when you obviously have the means to pay now, but are just being really annoying!! he kept insisting that i give him information that i do not have - penalties are under enforcement, and called us horrible for not transferring him because it's unfair to other customers?! who's the monster please. (i should stop using kns so often. bad habit.)
anyway, i know that he was likely being a pain in the neck, butt, wherever.. due to embarassment because when i was in the midst of telling him that he can use the payment voucher to pay at any singpost, he cut me off and said "Do you think i don't know that?" what a noob. honestly! ended up, i was almost going to shout at him but i guess the supervisor saw that i was going to blow my top because i was clenching my fist so hard that the nails were biting into my palm, and my fist had turned white, plus i guess my voice was getting louder. so she took over and handled the bloody idiot. luckily she's an indian lady, and older. so i guess she sounds like she can't be messed with.
if i see the dude and recognise him, rest assured, i'll laugh at him. no punching because that can get you sued.
this is the first really nasty, irritating person that i had to deal with on my own. the previous one was when i was attached to a perm staff, and personified every characteristic of the snarky, bad-tempered china woman - whiny, curly voice included. yucks. no wonder stereotypes exist.
so what if i'm evil, get used to it.
