3 day countdown
i think i'll be bored tomorrow because koala won't be around! hmm, hopefully will get to sit next to people i can talk to abit :x but at least today was rather fun.. i'm trying to dig out clothes to wear for tomorrow. feel like wearing my dad's shirt :P but i'd probably drown in it! will try later.
went for dinner with 4 colleagues?! colleague sounds weird, i think i'll call them office friends :P hahaa, sounds rather like fluff friends oO anyway, yup dinner was quite nice because we didn't need to spend ages deciding where to go - someone made a recommendation and we just moved! plus, i visited places i've never been before. and that's quite cool, since singapore is rather small.. and interesting places are hard to find!
had food near arab street, at a place called delimorrocan, where the recommender insisted that chicken kebab was the best thing to order.. so everyone had the same dish, and we shared pita bread. but it was good! hmm, kind of curious about the rest of the stuff because they looked alien.. maybe another time. it was reasonably priced, and yummy. so yay.
after food, it was quite early so another person decided to lead us to haji lane - shopping! i was rather surprised. but first we gawked at a golden-domed mosque, with detailing below the largest dome made out of soya-sauce glass bottles! according to our "guide", the architect added that in for the poor people who wanted to contribute something to the mosque. after that, we wandered into a malay heritage centre where we contemplated boarding a ship :P to take silly pirate photos or something.. but ended up debating if the ship was real or fake because we couldn't find a way up and it looked rather fragile.. breaking of relics is a no-no :P then we moved on our way to haji lane.
my first take of haji lane was that it was just an empty shortcut in the chinatown, kampong glam area, because it looked deserted except for the random car parked alongside. but as we walked down, signs of life started sprouting all around! all the shops had certain themes, and were quaint or curious little boutiques. but the prices aren't really exorbitant, rather normal but on the higher side! i guess the selling point of these boutiques are that some of them sold unique items, some of them stocked local designer goods and all the wares are limited in stock. there were some really cool items, like this black jacket :( but i don't really need one and i bet it'd cost more than i'd be willing or able to pay! boo.
the trip only started getting fun at the second store where we tried on retro shades and the camwhoring began.. lol :P slacking around, talking nonsense, trying on random stuff and taking silly photos (mostly them since i'm camera-shy-ish..)! i guess that sums up the mini-outing :D haha. fun!
