last day on my very first job (:
today was the last day of my very first job, as a temporary admin assistant at slb. they made me a really touching offer to extend until the end of the month, but hiring me as an intern so that the agency won't cut the pay! i was horrified that they were so nice :S but i chose to turn down the offer, not least because i was scared that i would end up not switching jobs and defeating my purpose in working for the next few months. As i told the boss, it's not really about the pay, although that's a very useful perk, but i want exposure and to learn, i want experience! blame it on the folly of youth but half a month is equivalent to 4% of my life. yup if you think of it in mathematical terms :P maybe when i'm older, i'll search for stability but now is the time to just let go :D
my colleague, the lady who gives me work, treated me to lunch today at Ethan's Sausages. they have really nice sausages but ALOT of potato and no veggies. but hey, i'm not complaining, the meat was lovely. i must remind myself to buy them something and go visit! (: and i found out that there's something called a Brazilian Carnivore's Buffet - the name speaks for itself, should go and try the lunch one day :P and i want to go for chocolate buffet! :( maybe when inflation drops.
anyway the next step is most likely iras since i'm lazy to go search, there's a place for me there, and there are quite a number of friends there! :D but i've the week off to do my own things :D
i hope results don't come out on friday. there have been too many rumours :S i don't want them back.. it's too scary! i'm scared of disappointment, i'm a coward. as Bill Gates said: "Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose." which is what i saw on an AIA poster in the lift on my way down, on the last day of work. and i felt the customary release, relief from being free to laze about again :P call me what you will, i daresay i'm piggy!
saturday is going to be quite busy. i don't know why everyone arranged things this saturday! i wish i could split into 3 to be in 3 places at one time. training on sat is indoor, which is how lovely! and now i've to choose between rjclass brunch and rgsquash teachers-house-visit.. dilemma dilemma! at least dinner is settled, and so's early morning meeting (: seems like saturday's gonna be quite fun but tiring :D then sunday will be a bore. but probably a welcome bore :P
