PFT = Perfectly Frustrating Torture
For lack of a better mnemonic...
After two gruelling days (wednesday and today) of PFT, the tension, frustration and anxiety reached its peak and collapsed this fateful day. To my delight, my 2.4km run timing actually improved from my personal timed best (which i can't remember but must have been 14-odd minutes) to 13.12 minutes! All the hard work preparing for this run (despite a long period of slacking in between~), as well as the effort and determination utilised during the run -- the feeling of your lungs burning, your muscles protesting each stride by the 4th round and torturous stitches due to oxygen debt but pushing to increase the pace in the final round, only to be deprived of the knowledge of my timing on that very same day and enduring a torturous 51h wait before the results were revealed to us! Quelle horreur! 5 items today was much better as I had more confidence in these than the long distance run. I shall not keep anyone (mainly myself, because I'm itching to publish this...) in suspense any longer!
PFT RESULTS: 30, Gold
Although it must be admitted that guys have it tougher for these, it is simply due to physical differences! Please, do not comment about how girls have it easier, simply because we are exempted from National Service and how this is unfair in view of the feminist goal! If you do, be very careful to whom and at what time of the month you make this comment. If not, be prepared to get slammed like a clam trapped between the beak of a seagull! Guys have no idea what girls have to go through every month. Upon calculation, I have concluded that the concept of girls getting the better deal because they need not go to NS for a measly two years is utterly deplorable and unfounded...
Assuming that a girl has her period for one week (1/4 month to simplify matters), for 12 months a year, for approximately 40 years and suffers from cramps for 4 out of the 7 days; the total number of days suffered = 40(1/4)(365)(4/7) = 2086 days (to nearest whole number) with no respite. Comparatively, guys suffer NS for a time = 2(365) = 730 days, not including public holidays, leave and weekends... Hence for all those guys out there who want to be girls to escape NS, please think twice.
En revanche, being a girl is not all that bad :P There are pros and cons to being a member of each gender. Personally, I would rather be a guy during a certain week of the month(except I have no wish of getting stripped simply for performing well in class -.-) but being a girl is fun the rest of the time! ^_____^ We have more choices of clothes, are cut more slack and cannot be physically punished, to name a few advantages~ We have no choice as to which gender we are born as, and should take things as they come! Both sexes probably enjoy the same amount of benefits and fun, but it is incalculable, so just be content with who you are! :D
